A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.
Group Goals
The group’s goals are to offer supportive relationships, educational resources, networking within local Child Life Programs, and the ability to earn Professional Development Hours (PDH) for re-certification from the Child Life Council Inc. (CLC). Annually, as a group, we continue to plan and implement our "Medical Play Day" event to promote and educate children and families on the importance of pediatric healthcare issues related to preparation and education. Mission Statement
As advocates for children and families facing illness and/or life altering events, the Child Life Specialist strives to offer the best care and support for all families. Our role as the Child Life Specialist is to offer age-appropriate activities for children and families coping with the healthcare environment and other stressful events, along with utilizing a variety of play opportunities as the vehicle to educate and prepare the child and the family about what they may encounter ahead. In addition this group strives to continuously educate the community about pediatric healthcare issues.
